Phil's ordered back to the beat

Pcs Will Fletcher and Diane Noble attend a nail bar where the owner, Stacey Jackson, arrived to find her new equipment had been stolen. Stacey confesses to DS Phil Hunter and DS Stuart Turner that Lisa Bryant, an ex-employee, was sacked after attempting to pinch her clients and set up her own business. Diane quizzes Lisa who claims that Stacey neglected her business to dine out with her boyfriend Colin Bowden. When Will arrives with CCTV footage showing Colin loitering outside the nail bar, Phil's determined to find out the truth about Colin and Stacey so books himself in for a manicure. For a bit of fun, Stuart encourages Will and Diane to snap Phil having his nails done. But the joke turns sour when the Pcs arrive just as Stacey's about to reveal information about Colin. Phil's livid and DI Jack Meadows is unimpressed when he catches Phil and Stuart fighting in CID. Jack tells Phil that the only way he will regain respect for the job is to go back on the beat - in uniform. Elsewhere, Pc Roger Valentine questions Pc Lewis Hardy's interest in the case of the unearthed skull.
