After last week's magical island-hopping adventure, we're off to the roof of the world as this stunning series, hosted by David Attenborough, takes us into the mountains.

In the scorched peaks of the Arabian Peninsula, Nubian ibex head to dizzying heights to breed, safely away from predators – but must negotiate stomach-churningly sheer drops daily to get to water and food lower down…

Above the Alps, the golden eagle soars – and there's a breathtaking recreation of its 200mph dive to catch prey (see how they did it in Planet Earth II Diaries, at the end of the programme).

We also find out what happens when the elusive snow leopard has to find a mate in the Himalayas, and see a grizzly bear family emerge from hibernation in the Rockies.
