Richard E Grant proved to be a genial host in documentary series such as Hotel Secrets, so it's no surprise that he’s the ideal person to bring alive a three-part history of Ealing Studios and films such as Whisky Galore!, The Ladykillers and Passport to Pimlico (8.00pm, GOLD).

Richard recalls watching the comedies on TV as a boy, and enjoys a host of film clips as well as reminiscing with fellow fans. 'Is there a George Formby film where he tries to kill Hitler?' muses Jonathan Ross, 'or was it a cheese nightmare?'. The answer may surprise you.
