Alex Polizzi rounds off her Spanish tour in the northwest

This week, Alex Polizzi arrives in Galicia in the northwest of Spain, where she meets a woman who risks her life to pick prized percebes (gooseneck barnacles), on the aptly named Coast of Death. In the most moving part of the series, Alex finds out about the work of an association to help relatives of the victims of the Franco regime who were executed and buried in mass graves.

She finishes her trip at Santiago de Compostela cathedral, also the finishing point for the pilgrims who walk the Camino de Santiago.

Summing up the experience, a pilgrim says to Alex, ‘Enjoy everything. See everything. Be happy,’ which seems a fitting ending to the series.
