New Sun Hill recruits Pc's Sally Armstrong (played by ex-Hollyoaks actress Ali Bastian) and Billy Rowan are thrown in at the deep end on their first day when they are asked to help investigate the stabbing of Sergeant Doug Wright. Supt. John Heaton tells the team that Doug's attacker intended to kill and that he may be targeting the police generally. Sergeant Nikki Wright suspects that Doug's attacker was Mo Benjamin, who accused Doug of harassment. When the officers find Mo he flees – but Billy catches him and makes his first arrest. During questioning, an agitated Mo claims that Doug has it in for him. When Mo's solicitor warns DC Terry Perkins that all his evidence is circumstantial, Heaton tells CID they must release Mo. Elsewhere, Sally attends a disturbance at a jewellery shop and, with a little help from Billy, makes her first arrest. Later, Nikki, Sally, Billy and Pc Emma Keane arrive at an abandoned factory where it's been reported that kids have been throwing stones. The team split into pairs – but what begins as a seemingly average call-out quickly turns into a nightmare for the four terrified officers...
