This three-part comedy series based on Andrew Birch's comic strip in The Oldie magazine stars Simon Callow as Henry Palmer, the 70-year-old rebel of the title. Brighton resident and ex-mod Henry is growing old disgracefully by indulging in the sort of anti-social behaviour that makes him a 'weapons-grade pain'. When advised by his despairing daughter Cath (Anna Crilly) to calm down, he asks: 'What's wrong with wanting to give the world one last kick up the a*se before my hips give out?' Callow is clearly having fun in this role, alongside Anita Dobson and Bill Paterson, in a show that will appeal to all ex-mods of a certain age.
