A night club is peppered with bullets. Two victims lie bleeding on the floor. It's the start of a deadly gun rampage through the streets of London. With the media swarming all over the case and a hostage to find, DS Matt Davlin (Jamie Bamber) and DS Ronnie Brooks (Bradley Walsh) are up against the clock as they try to track down the Bonnie and Clyde duo who are wreaking havoc on the city streets. But capture is far from closure when defence barrister Phyllis Gladstone (Lesley Manville) takes the case on, arguing that one of the pair was more innocent victim than violent killer. Did the defendant act out of fear - beaten and bullied into submission by her partner-in-crime, too terrified to escape and alert the police? With two sides to every story, the team are under pressure to make sure someone is held responsible for a murderous spree that cost five lives...

Patrick McLennan

Patrick McLennan is a London-based journalist and documentary maker who has worked as a writer, sub-editor, digital editor and TV producer in the UK and New Zealand. His CV includes spells as a news producer at the BBC and TVNZ, as well as web editor for Time Inc UK. He has produced TV news and entertainment features on personalities as diverse as Nick Cave, Tom Hardy, Clive James, Jodie Marsh and Kevin Bacon and he co-produced and directed The Ponds, which has screened in UK cinemas, BBC Four and is currently available on Netflix. 

An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
