As everyone celebrates the birth of Kit's baby, a shocked Tony arrives to break the devastating news about Beth's sudden death. A distressed Kit breaks down sobbing before checking herself out of hospital to arrange Beth's funeral. Upset Tony ends up at the hospital, where he finds himself in the same room as the truck driver responsible for Beth's death. He lays into the man, accusing him of tearing his family apart. Jack comforts Tony while the girls arrange for Beth to be buried in Adelaide alongside her mum. But it's too much for Tony when Jack hands him a bag of Beth's things from the accident, and he breaks down in tears. Hoping that wealthy sleazebag Lou will bail him out of his cash troubles, Cam agrees to Lou's request to see more of Martha. Later, Cam lays into Martha for being late, but has to do some serious back-pedalling when Martha hits back, telling him she's had a family tragedy. When Martha is out of sight, Cam tells Cindy he will be needing Martha's help to seal the deal with Lou because Lou likes to be 'entertained'.
