Mark Wahlberg returns for Michael Bay’s ludicrous fifth Transfomers movie.

Jumbling up Arthurian legend, interplanetary quests and shape-changing robots, this is the most relentlessly daft, but fan-pleasing, instalment yet.

Wahlberg's widowed amateur inventor Cade Yeager gamely takes on everything the film throws at him, Anthony Hopkins pops up as an exposition-spouting English aristocrat, complete with a fussy C3PO-like robot butler voiced by Jim Carter and, in the silliest role of all, Laura Haddock plays a polo-playing, cleavage-displaying, skinny dress-wearing Oxford history professor, which gives the camera something to linger on when it isn't pointing at explosions and somersaulting stuntmen.
