Angelo is distant and Charlie assumes it's to do with his brother. Paulie reveals he's 30,000 dollars in debt. Charlie tries to convince Angelo not to loan money to him - Angelo's in enough debt of his own. But he extends his loan with the bank, so he can help Paulie. They then discover Paulie's debt is with loan sharks and he used their parents' business as collateral. Leah tells Miles why she's been writing letters to Elijah but not sending them - it makes her feel closer to him. Miles asks her if she thinks she made a mistake letting Elijah go, and Leah doesn't know. Miles suggests she send one of the letters, while VJ thinks she should read the letters Elijah sent him. Leah reads the letters and they make her feel even closer to Elijah. She decides to send one herself. Dex is rehearsing the speech he wants to give Marilyn. He's ready to tell her how he feels. When Marilyn calls to invite Sid over for dinner, Dex answers and wangles an invitation for himself. But when Sid emerges from the shower asking who was on the phone, Dex lies and says it was the hospital - they want Sid to go into work.
