Hollyoaks star Rachel Shenton is setting up her very own acting school to share her knowledge and skills about getting ahead in showbusiness.

The 26-year-old star - who left the E4 soap last month after two years playing glamorous schemer Mitzeee Minniver - is offering classes, for young people aged 11 to 21, about how to succeed in acting.

Rachel told Staffordshire local paper The Sentinel: "There are plenty of good drama schools and academies helping children and young people to learn to sing, dance and act.

"I'm hoping I can fill a gap by helping to advise people on acting mechanics - the kinds of things that, looking back, I would have really benefited from as a teenager.

"They are things like the importance of having a showreel, a headshot, a cover note, a tailored CV - these are all really important when you are trying out for roles.

"The point of the classes is to help equip young people to give them the best chance of getting work."

Rachel has just finished filming a pilot for a new E4 comedy and is busy training for several charity events. In May she will take part in the Donna Louise 10k race at Trentham Gardens, and in September she will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the National Deaf Children's Society.

Rachel plans to teach two age groups - 11-16 and 17-21. Those interested in the monthly workshops, priced £45, should email Actingmechanics@gmail.com.
