She's back! Alison Burrows returns to Hollyoaks

Alison Burrows is returning to Hollyoaks as Kathleen McQueen, having previously appeared in both Hollyoaks and Hollyoaks Later. Kathleen, the scheming mum of Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) and sister to Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane), appeared in Hollyoaks Later last year and also had a two-month stint in the main soap. Her character left with her tail between her legs when she was caught stealing money, but Kathleen is returning to Hollyoaks in December. However, her time away does not seem to have reformed her. Kathleen's return sees her caught red-handed trying to use a dodgy £50 note at the SU Bar. She will later try and blackmail the McQueen family when she learns one of their darkest secrets. He has produced TV news and entertainment features on personalities as diverse as Nick Cave, Tom Hardy, Clive James, Jodie Marsh and Kevin Bacon and he co-produced and directed The Ponds, which has screened in UK cinemas, BBC Four and is currently available on Netflix.

An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
