Tonight's EastEnders sees secrets revealed that have been kept hidden for weeks as Mick Carter finally confesses what really happened in prison...

EastEnders fans have been kept in the dark about what's bothering Mick Carter since he was released from jail at the end of last year - but that's all about to change tonight.

Despite Linda Carter finally getting the confession she needed from Stuart Highway to free her husband from prison, Mick hasn't been himself ever since he was released just before Christmas.

Mick was thrilled to be home, but his marriage to Linda has been strained

Viewers will know that Mick went to jail after being framed by frenemy Stuart for shooting him... while all along it was Stuart who actually shot himself.

Poor Linda was forced to pretend she had ended things with Mick, making out to Stuart she believed Mick was guilty - all to make him trust her enough to admit what he did.

But despite now being a free man thanks to his wife, Mick's struggling to adjust to life on the outside, and the cracks are starting to show in the Carters' marriage.

Mick has been struggling since getting out of prison

Earlier this week Linda was left shocked when she realised the extent of Mick's turmoil when he lashed out after she told he he wasn't allowed to go and play football with Mitch and the kids' football team.

But while she reached out to her husband, trying to figure out what is going on inside his head, she is left worried when he continued to talk in riddles.

But tonight sees Mick finally open up about what happened while he was in prison serving time for a crime he didn't commit.

As Linda tends to Mick's wounded hand, he finally reveals why he has been keeping her at arms length for the last few weeks... but what happened in prison that has caused him to act like this?

It's likely that Linda will be shocked by Mick's confession, but how will this affect their marriage going forward?

Is this something they can work through, or is this the final nail in the coffin that is the Carters' marriage?
