Ex EastEnders star Samantha Womack reveals the truth about whether she’s going on Strictly Come Dancing

Samantha Womack denies reports she's waltzing onto the new series of Strictly

Former EastEnders star Samantha Womack was reported over the weekend to be the latest star set to be joining the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Samantha, whose character Ronnie Mitchell died in EastEnders last year, would have surely have been among the favourites to win the next series of the BBC1 hit.

But, Samantha has fairly emphatically denied the rumours, saying on Twitter:"I am not doing Strictly!!!"

Erm, we think that's pretty certain then! Many took to Twitter to voice their opinion that Samantha would have been great on Strictly. "You would be ace at it," said one, another said: "Shame. you would be fabulous."

Among the stars who've been rumoured to be taken part in the next series of Strictly are former Treasure Hunt host Anneka Rice, Casualty star Chelsea Halfpenny, Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley and one of the Spice Girls!

Meanwhile, as to what Samantha is actually doing, she has been filming a role alongside Emilia Fox in the next series of Silent Witness.

Samantha, who sported long blonde locks while on EastEnders as Ronnie, also recently revealed her new dark brunette hairstyle. She shared a photograph on Twitter, in which her new brown hair is divided into two plaits.

Samantha Womack made her last appearance as Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders in Janaury 2017, a decade after the character was first introduced to the BBC1 soap.
