There's drama heading for Neighbours today as Elly Brennan resident gets caught up in her own web of lies...

Neighbours Elly Brennan has told so many lies to husband Mark over the last few weeks that she's starting to forget what is true and what is false.

But just when it looks like she might be able to get away with convincing Mark that she is pregnant with his baby, her mountain of lies looks like it's about to come tumbling down today when Mark books her a surprise ultrasound and is determined to go along to the appointment with her.

Neighbours fans have watched Elly desperately try and fix her doomed marriage by pretending that the baby she is carrying is Mark's and not the result of an ill-advised one night stand with Shaun, the brother of Finn Kelly.

Elly knows she is pregnant with Shaun's baby and not Mark's...

Today's trip to Ramsay Street sees Mark excited as he and Elly reach their first milestone in the pregnancy, announcing it is time to have their first scan.

But of course Elly is 7 weeks behind where Mark thinks she should be in her pregnancy after her first pregnancy turned out to be a false alarm.

So when Mark announces that he has booked them a scan to see their baby, Elly is totally thrown and terrified that he is going to work out that she isn't as pregnant as she claims she is.

Mark has no idea that the baby Elly is carrying isn't his...

Elly feels awful as Mark talks about his heartache over losing his baby daughter, Caitlin, and she knows that telling him the truth about this baby would break him.

Confiding in Leo, who knows the truth about who the father of Elly's baby really is, Elly wonders how she is going to pull the wool over Mark's eyes when they get to their hospital appointment, so Leo reluctantly concocts a lie to keep Mark at work and away from the scan.

But as Elly arrives at the hospital today to cancel her appointment, Mark shows up at the last moment, excited to see their baby on the screen for the first time.

How is she going to get out of this one? Something tells us another web of lies is on its way!
