Rylan revealed he is joining the BBC for the 2018 Eurovision semi-finals
Rylan Clark-Neal has announced he will be taking on commentary duties for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals.
The TV presenter, who announced in December he is taking time off from his duties on This Morning, will join radio DJ Scott Mills for the preliminary rounds in Lisbon on May 8 and May 10, where 37 countries will compete for their place in the grand final.
Sharing his ‘exciting’ news on Twitter, Rylan said: ‘Very excited to say I’m joining the @bbceurovision family alongside @grahnort and @scott_mills and will be a Semi Finals commentator in Lisbon.
‘Dream come true mate.’
Fresh from his role as judge on last month’s You Decide ceremony, which saw SuRie picked to represent the United Kingdom, Rylan added: ‘As a massive fan of Eurovision, I've already cracked out my Union Jack Spice Girl jacket and am packed and primed and ready to take on Lisbon. SuRie was great this year and I can't wait to watch her represent us.’
The BBC also announced the news on their official page, writing: ‘Presenting our 2018 dream team! @Grahnort hosts the Grand Final on @BBCOne.

‘Fresh from You Decide, we welcome @Rylan! He joins @scott_mills on @BBCFour for the semi-finals. Revealing the UK results? It's #MelGiedroyc while @RealKenBruce broadcasts #Eurovision @BBCRadio2.’
SuRie was chosen to represent the UK after winning Eurovision: You Decide 2018 by a combination of viewer and expert jury votes – and will head to Lisbon to perform 'Storm' in May.
