Sean is heading for heartbreak when he sets off to meet Billy's son. Billy orders the cab to stop when he sees Todd, reveals Corrie star Antony Cotton

Poor Sean’s devastated when vicar boyfriend Billy bins him off in Coronation Street. Antony Cotton tells Soaplife the whole sad story…

So Sean (Antony) has no inkling Billy’s feelings for him have changed? “No idea at all. He’s seen Todd [Bruno Langley] and Billy [Daniel Brocklebank] whispering in corners, but has totally bought Billy’s explanation for that. He thinks it’s because Billy needed help with his brother, Lee [Richard Crehan]. Sean thinks that explains everything! He and Billy are going on a trip to London, which is supposed to be the next stage of their relationship, with Billy getting to meet Sean’s son, Dylan. It’s a fairly monumental step for Sean.”

But Billy stops the cab as they’re leaving... “Sean thinks Billy’s forgotten something, then Billy blurts out he just can’t do it. Billy’s seen Todd standing in the doorway of the florist’s and that’s the catalyst for him. Sean’s floored. He absolutely thought Billy was ‘the one’. He’s been happier with Billy than with anyone before.”

Where does this leave Sean with the Grimshaws? “Well, Sean, Todd and Jason [Ryan Thomas] are like brothers, so it’s going to be very difficult for Sean living with Todd. I’ve filmed later scenes and they’re very emotional. It’s going to have major implications for his relationship with the whole family. The ‘brother code’ has been broken by Todd. I don’t think Todd’s done it in a deliberate or a dastardly way. He’s genuinely sorry it’s happened.”

Can Sean and Todd move on from this? “There are some moving scenes coming up. Todd doesn’t want to lose Sean’s friendship. I’d like to think that, as they’re pretty much family, time will heal the wounds and they can move on.”
