Shock confession in Home and Away set to leave Summer Bay residents reeling
There's shock in today's Home and Away when Irene confesses to putting Tommy in hospital...
Home and Away's Irene Roberts has been living with the guilt of putting Bella Dixon's attacker Tommy in hospital, and this week the stress of keeping such a huge secret gets too much and she heads to the police station to confess.
But thankfully local police officer - and Bella's big brother - Colby Thorne is on hand to take Irene's statement and, as the truth is revealed, Colby struggles to listen as she reveals how she came home to find Tommy attacking Bella.
Colby manages to remain professional and swallows his disgust and rage... and, as Irene talks about how she came to attack Tommy, Colby realises that she is also victim and that old memories were stirred by Tommy's words.

After taking Irene's statement, Colby gently tells Bella that he is going to have to take a statement from her as well... and Bella agrees that if it will help Irene then she will talk about what happened.
Seeing that Irene needs a friend, Colby calls Leah and asks her to come to the station to be with Irene in her moment of need.

After police have searched Irene's house, they head to Tommy's place and find pictures of Bella and other underage girls on his computer.
The police have more than enough evidence to arrest Tommy, and as luck would have it he wakes up from his coma just in time for Colby to cuff him to his hospital bed.
But just because Tommy is awake and there is evidence to arrest him, it doesn't mean Irene is in the clear.
She is still facing serious charges for her attack... but will she end up going to prison for hitting Tommy?
As the Summer Bay rumour mill goes into overdrive it won't be long before Irene is revealed as Tommy's attacker... but will everyone realise that she was only defending Bella?
