Newcomer Mackenzie Hargreaves reveals a secret that no one saw coming in today's Neighbours...

There has been plenty of mystery surrounding Neighbours newcomer Mackenzie Hargreaves since she arrived in Erinsborough... but today the wait to find out her secret is finally over.

Yesterday's Neighbours saw Yashvi Rebecchi put two and two together and get five when she put the mysterious things she had discovered about Mackenzie together and came up with the conclusion that she could be her sister.

But today the truth about how Shane knows Mackenzie is revealed when Yashvi sees Mackenzie and Shane talking secretly at school, and becomes more convinced than ever that her dad has been cheating on her mum.

In the end Yashvi confronts her dad about having an affair and he realises he needs to come clean to his family before the secrets get out of hand.

After asking Mackenzie if she is ready to tell everyone the truth, Shane holds a family meeting at home with Dipi and their daughters, and even head teacher Susan is invited along for moral support.

Eventually Mackenzie reveals that Shane has been helping her track down her dad because they were friends from back in Bourke, but not only that, the reason Yashvi recognises her is because they went to the same school.

Eventually Mackenzie makes the brave move to tell Yashvi that she knew her back in their Bourke days as Michael... leaving Yashvi speechless.

But of course Mackenzie had no reason to worry about how Yashvi would react, because Yashvi's more worried about the fact she jumped to the wrong conclusion than the fact her old friend has transitioned.

The pair decide to make a start afresh and it seems that this is a friendship that is set to blossom... but will everyone in Erinsborough be as understanding as the Rebecchis?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5
