Alex Scott has confirmed reports circulating that she was 'fuming' to be dancing with Neil Jones again following his injury are totally untrue.

The Strictly star took to Twitter to shut down the rumours - which suggested she'd rather have continued the competition with Kevin Clifton - saying: 'Just woke up to this news. Contrary to these reports and trying to get a headline this is not the case at all ha.

'I think you can see from the joy on our face last night as we danced our Jive #teamred is very happy to back together @Mr_NJones.'

Alex's statement comes just hours after an insider said she reportedly 'snapped' with 'frustration' after hearing the news that Neil would be returning to the show following the all-clear from the physio.

'As far as Alex is concerned, it’s all been pretty chaotic,' the source told The Sun. 'She was unable to devote her energies entirely to either Kevin or Neil because no one would tell her who she was going to be paired with this weekend.

'Alex really likes Neil. She is incredibly loyal to him. But she and Kevin have amazing chemistry. He has really been bringing the best out in her,' the insider exampled. 'She was hopeful that she would be allowed some sort of consistency, and have Kevin on the night.'

Despite pouring cold water on the rumours that there's trouble in paradise with Neil, Alex did admit she feels like 'the luckiest girl alive' to have had two Strictly partners.

She tweeted: 'Got to admit it though, I do feel like the luckiest girl alive. Not everyone gets to dance with two amazing people on @bbcstrictly who would ever want to complain about that, lol @keviclifton is part of #teamred.'

Neil - who was forced to miss two weeks of the competition after sustaining an injury - chimed in and said, 'Yep I started laughing when I read it this morning. As we all know happiness and positivity doesn’t make headlines...

'Anyway who cares, we both had a great time and enjoyed every moment of that jive and that's all that matters #teamred.'

We're pleased to see Team Red back together again!
