Surprise in soapland as THIS Hollyoaks star makes a shock appearance in Coronation Street
There was shock in Weatherfield last night Hollyoaks star and former Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson made a surprise appearance on the famous cobbles...
Coronation Street gave fans a huge treat last night when they brought actress Nikki Sanderson back to the cobbles fourteen years after she was last seen in Weatherfield.
Viewers will remember that actress Nikki played the loveable Candice Stowe from 1999 until 2005, and she has since gone on to join the cast of Hollyoaks, where she currently plays the popular character Maxine Minniver.
Nikki's surprise appearance on the ITV soap came during a special one-off documentary that paid tribute to actress Sue Nicholls, who is infamous for playing the legendary Coronation Street salon owner Audrey Roberts.
The programme celebrated Sue's 40 years on the soap, and saw Nikki return to the cobbles with actress Tracy Shaw, who played another member of Audrey's salon staff, Maxine Peacock.

Sue had no idea that the pair were coming to visit her on the set of Coronation Street, and as she was outside filming the documentary on the cobbles, they were hiding inside the salon, ready for the big surprise.

Sue was of course delighted to see her former colleagues and the trio reminisced about their days filming in Audrey's salon together.
Fans were thrilled with the special programme dedicated to Sue's time on the show, and enjoyed the trip down memory lane...
These days Nikki is busy filming on Hollyoaks where her character Maxine is still dealing with the repercussions of her high lies.
But Sue had a great idea for Tracy during the documentary and announced that the character of Maxine should come back to the cobbles.
The actress revealed she thought Maxine, who was infamously killed off by cobbles killer Richard Hillman, could come back from the dead and joked: "I'll organise that. I've been here 40 years now, you know!"
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
