My Life as a Rolling Stone, 9pm, BBC Two
He might have been the last band member to join, but Ronnie Wood is credited as being the man who saved the Rolling Stones, and is particularly close to Keith Richards. Both guitarists are profiled in this week’s double bill. Previously a member of Rod Stewart’s hard-partying band the Faces, ‘mischief-maker’ Ronnie, now 75, joined the band in 1975 to replace the departing Mick Taylor, bringing a much-needed sense of fun – on and off stage. In particular, Ronnie reinvigorated Keith Richards, and has acted as occasional peacemaker between Mick Jagger and Keith. The band's 40th anniversary gig at Madison Square Garden, Licked Live in NYC, follows (11pm).

Adele: 30 Greatest Moments, 8pm, Channel 5
When you are multi-award-winning artist (15 Grammy wins, one Oscar and 12 BRIT Awards so far) with millions of record sales and are regularly named as one of the most influential and profitable people in music, it must be quite tricky to pick just 30 of your greatest moments. But Channel 5 is giving it a go in this two-hour special dedicated to the north London singer-songwriter. As well as a look back at her incredible music – from the release of her first album, 19, in 2008, to last year’s 30 – the film also visits her old school and the studio where she recorded her best-selling albums, plus chats to some of the people who know her best.

Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow, 7pm, ITV
For the first time, the series that revives classic ITV game shows brings back Child’s Play, which was hosted by Michael Aspel from 1984 to 1988 and saw contestants trying to guess what’s being described by kids in short clips. It begins with four contestants working solo to win cash for every correct answer, and the most successful contestant goes through to the Epic Endgame to try to win £20,000! In some respects it feels like two different shows because we could quite happily skip the game bit and just watch the cute kids chattering away!

Trom, 9pm & 9.45pm, BBC Four
Scandi noir returns to Saturdays with this UK TV first, a drama set on the Faroe Islands. The six-parter follows journalist Hannis Martinsson (Banshee’s Ulrich Thomsen) as he returns home following a cry for help from the daughter he never knew he had. This has many familiar set-ups of the crime genre – a returning native made good, likely high-level corruption, stunningly dark landscapes – plus the fact that the Faroes is one of the places still actively whaling adds an intriguing eco element to the storytelling.

A Royal Guide to … Celebrations, 8pm, C4
The Royal Family are a worldwide fascination, with a history based on convention and precedents. This new series paints an intimate portrait of the inner workings of the Royal Family, how they operate and deal with everything life throws at them, often drawing on centuries of tradition. Each week focuses on a different topic, and in the first episode, we take a look at celebrations, from jubilees, to coronations, christenings and Trooping the Colour.

Best box set to watch on TV tonight
The Baby, Sky Box Sets/NOW
When is motherhood not a joy? When your baby is a murdering monster! In this clever comedy-horror The Duchess’s Michelle de Swarte stars as proudly non-maternal Natasha. The gobby chef rents a creepy cabin near a cliff from mysterious chain-smoking Mrs Eaves (Amira Ghazalla), only to find herself landed with a baby – literally – when one plummets into her arms (it’s a boy!). But this isn’t any baby; this is The Baby, an unnatural born killer who’s chosen Natasha as his new mum. And any attempts to offload the problem child results in murder and mayhem. A welcome new addition to the genre.
Best film to watch on TV tonight
Nine to Five, 6.50pm, ITVBe
They’ve recently been seen together in Netflix’s comedy Grace and Frankie (with the final episodes landing in April), but back in 1980 Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin were very much stars of the big screen. Together with Dolly Parton (in her first film role), they starred in this box-office hit about three women who plot revenge on their sexist boss (Dabney Coleman). Dolly’s catchy theme tune picked up two Grammys.
