Best TV shows on TV tonight
The Family Pile, 9.30 pm, ITV1
Four sisters have emotional upheaval and some life changes to navigate in this new comedy. Following the recent loss of both parents, the siblings – Yvette (Clare Calbraith), Ursula (Claire Keelan), Gaynor (Alexandra Mardell) and Nicole (Amanda Abbington) – have put their mum and dad’s house on the market, but they’re not exactly aligned on what happens next.
The six-part series opens with eldest sibling Nicole showing some prospective buyers around the property, but she’s in for a shock when she walks in on Yvette in a compromising situation in an upstairs bedroom. With great performances all round, this is warm and witty, with some poignant moments sprinkled into the mix.

Across two weeks of live shows, Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan present from Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk, while Iolo Williams and Gillian Burke report in from Edinburgh. In Norfolk, it’s breeding season for the grey seal population, but it won’t be plain sailing as males looking for mates is not good news for newborn pups.
The team will also be trying to tempt a stoat or weasel out of hiding with a ‘mini carcass camera’. In Edinburgh, the cameras are trained on a badger sett in the heart of the city’s zoo. TV medic Dr Amir Khan celebrates the birds flying into his garden, and singer and birdwatcher David Gray is searching for his favourite bird – the curlew.

Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad: 9 pm, ITV1
The father-and-son duo are in Guatemala for the next leg of their Latin American road trip. As usual, Barney has arranged a few activities that test his dad’s mettle, including a bike ride across a 25m-high tightrope! It’s not all about scaring Bradley witless, though, as Barney’s lined up some fun, too. As well as joining a traditional marimba band, the boys meet a shaman who believes in the healing power of chocolate, which might be just what Bradley needs after all that high-adrenaline action!

Scotland: My Life in the Wild, All 4
It’s fair to say Hamza Yassin has become a national treasure thanks to his winning turn on Strictly, but you wouldn’t be alone in having missed the under-the-radar start of his TV career in 2020. As well as rambling with little ones as Ranger Hamza in CBeebies’ Let’s Go for a Walk, the lovely wildlife cameraman made this stunning documentary in which he tells his amazing life story, introduces us to his neighbours and films the animals that share his remote Ardnamurchan home, including otters, red deer and pine martens.
Also available on All 4 is 2021’s four-part series Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness, which sees Hamza exploring beautiful Scottish landscapes with a quartet of awed celebrities.

Best box set on TV tonight
If you're looking for a very unique series this week, Kaleidoscope could be the perfect choice for you. This is a Netflix heist series with a twist, and you can watch the series in any order you like until the thrilling conclusion.
The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito leads the cast as Leo Pap, and we follow a crew of masterful thieves and their attempt to crack a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history. It's certainly an interesting watch especially if you're discussing it with others who may have watched in a different order to you!
