James Moore is 'over the moon'

Emmerdale star Ash Palmisciano has warmly congratulated co-star James Moore over his nomination in the 2019 National Television Awards.

Both stars have made a huge impression since joining Emmerdale this year. And Ash, who plays Matty Barton, was one of the first to say well done to James, aka Ryan Stocks, when it was revealed that James is up for a prize in the Newcomer category.

Ash tweeted: “Well done legend! Very well deserved! xx” To which James replied: “Thank you dude.”

James had earlier tweeted his shock and delight at receiving the nomination, saying: “What is happening right now. Just seen this. Can’t believe it. Still in shock. Over the moon. Thank you all so much for your support. This is the strangest tweet I’ve ever written but I’m just in complete shock right now THANK YOU.”

Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa, also sent her congratulations saying: “Go on James”, to which James replied: “Ahhhhh chelle ADORE you.”

And James added that he wasn’t worried about any negative comments, posting: “Again, loving the support from all of you, but don’t worry, I’m not bothered by anyone who says I’m a bad actor or they can’t understand me, it’s part of being and parcel of being in the business. To be honest the fact I was even nominated already proved them wrong.”

But James faces some tough competition in the Newcomer category, he’s up against: Hollyoaks’ Aedan Duckworth (Oliver Morgan), Doctors actor Daniel Kerr (James Coulter), Casualty’s Neet Mohan (Dr Rashid “Rash” Masum), Coronation Street’s Alexander Mardell (Emma Brooker), and EastEnders star Ricky Champ (Stuart Highway).

The National Television Awards features some huge battles this year, including both Bodyguard stars Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes up against each other for Drama Performance – and they’ll be facing Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh, as well as Jodie Whittaker’s Time Lord for the award!
