The music mogul has revealed when the series will end
Simon Cowell has confirmed when the final of this year's X Factor will take place, and it's not that far away.
The music mogul revealed that the ITV reality show will come to an end in just three weeks' time.
However, it seems the 59-year-old actually did so by accident.
After being blown away by Dalton Harris’ incredible performance on last night’s show, Simon let slip about the final.
"I have a feeling we'll be seeing you in three weeks for the final," he told Dalton as he praised the contestant.
Viewers were shocked to discover that the show would be coming to an end much earlier this year, as it usually finishes in mid December.
Despite there only being three weeks left, there are still ten contestants battling it out on the show, which means double eliminations will need to continue in order for there to just be four acts in the final.
Viewers took to social media after Simon’s revelation to discuss this year’s early final.
"Did he say the final is in 3 weeks? #XFactor," one person wrote, while another added: “Final... 3 weeks... Bit early ain't it? #XFactor"
A third person added: "Can’t believe final is three weeks away. No wonder ratings are down. It’s no longer the big show that takes over autumn and winter.
"Back to basics. Bring back the razzle-dazzle. Bring back the proper boot camp. We want to see the journey #xfactor."
Looks like there'll be a bit of a longer race to bag that Christmas number one this year...
