Actress and TV presenter Denise Welch has revealed she is engaged to her toyboy lover Lincoln Townley after a whirlwind romance. The former Coronation Street star, who was crowned winner of Celebrity Big Brother in January, said she was "absolutely thrilled" after the 39-year-old - who is now also her publicist - popped the question on holiday in Nice. And the pair are now set to marry in front of family and friends next summer, according to the Mirror. The proposal comes six months after the 54-year-old revealed she had split from her husband of 24 years, actor Tim Healy. "After breaking up from Tim, Denise thought she would never marry again. She never reckoned on falling in love so soon," a source told the paper. "This past year has been incredibly hard but Lincoln has been an absolute tower of strength." The insider added that Lincoln "planned the proposal with military precision and even asked for Denise’s dad's blessing. "It was completely unexpected and Denise was stunned but now she can’t wait to plan an amazing wedding." Denise formally announced the end of her marriage in an emotional edition of Loose Women earlier this year, shortly after she won Celebrity Big Brother - although she and Tim originally split in December before she went into the house.
