John Stape's plan to escape Coronation Street is thrown into chaos when drainage engineers begin to dig up the factor floor next week. One of his victims, Colin Fishwick, is buried in the floor and John's house of cards will collapse if the body is found. So he begs for work on the project and tries to sabotage it from within. Meanwhile, Ches has worked his way free, but John arrives just as the hostages make their escape. There's a tussle and lives are in grave danger as John flies into a panic...
