Letitia Dean first played Sharon in 1985
EastEnders legend Letitia Dean will create a little bit of history tonight when she makes her 2000th episode appearance as Sharon Mitchell!
And it certainly promises to be a suitably dramatic episode as Keanu demands that they tell his pregnant girlfriend Louise Mitchell about their affair, although Sharon’s desperate to keep it a secret.
Sharon is seen rushing around Walford tonight desperately trying to stop Keanu breaking the bombshell to Louise over lunch. Can Sharon stop him?
Letitia has now been appearing as Sharon on and off since 1985. The 51-year-old actress filmed tonight’s episode back in April and to mark the occasion the show’s bosses gave her a lovely bouquet of flowers while she shot a scene with Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell).
In a special video posted on the official EastEnders Twitter page at the time, Letitia, 51, said “thank you” for the gift before kissing Steve McFadden on the cheek and saying to her co-star: “I couldn’t have done it without you, Steve.” He quipped in response: “She’s right. You’re right.”
The show’s senior executive producer, Kate Oates, described reaching the 2,000th episode landmark as “an amazing achievement by anyone’s standards”.
Letitia however has some way to catch up Adam Woodyatt, who’s made nearly 4,000 appearances on the soap as Ian Beale.

The only other EastEnders star to have clocked up more than 3,000 episodes is Steve McFadden.
Speaking about the show, Letitia once said that EastEnders was "very close to my heart."
Hopefully, Letitia will stick around Walford long enough to reach the 3,000 episode club!
