Brendan's dad arrives in Hollyoaks!

Brendan and Ste arrive back in the village and Cheryl is delighted to see them. But Brendan's whole world crumbles when his dad, Seamus, turns up in Hollyoaks. Carmel is hoping that she'll finally get her first kiss with Barney. After their date, the moment's perfect as Barney offers her his jacket, but when Carmel leans in, he runs away. Nancy is worried that her son won't make it home for Christmas. Darren persuades his wife to go shopping, but she forgets her phone and when she returns, new barmaid Sienna tells her everyone was called to the hospital. Tyson gets the job as the stripper at the sister's hen party, but unaware of this steamy session with Mitzeee, Maxine gets her claws in too.

Patrick McLennan is a London-based journalist and documentary maker who has worked as a writer, sub-editor, digital editor and TV producer in the UK and New Zealand. His CV includes spells as a news producer at the BBC and TVNZ, as well as web editor for Time Inc UK. He has produced TV news and entertainment features on personalities as diverse as Nick Cave, Tom Hardy, Clive James, Jodie Marsh and Kevin Bacon and he co-produced and directed The Ponds, which has screened in UK cinemas, BBC Four and is currently available on Netflix.

An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
