There's a buzz in the air as Britain's Got Talent goes live with the semi-finals

We’ve seen all the auditions… now it’s time for the top 40 Britain's Got Talent acts to perform again, this time for YOUR votes, as the live semi-finals kick off tonight.

Top of the crop in the five shows coming from London’s Hammersmith Apollo this week are the five Golden Buzzer acts chosen by the judges and hosts Ant and Dec: Flakefleet Primary School children’s choir, dancer Akshat Singh, teen rock band Chapter 13, singer Giorgia Borg and comedian Kojo Amin.

TV Times caught up with Flakefleet choir's headteacher-turned-choirmaster Dave McPartlin (no relation to Ant!) to ask him how they're feeling before the live shows – they went through after an emotional David Walliams hit the Gold Buzzer.

"It’s just unbelievable!" says Dave. "We didn’t talk about going through, never mind getting a Golden Buzzer.

"When the crowd were chanting, ‘Press the Gold!’ we didn’t think for one minute that anyone would!

"What’s really special about David pressing the Golden Buzzer is that, for many of our kids, he really is their hero. They’ve all got his books; they all know who he is."

But have Flakefleet got what it takes to get through to next weekend’s grand final for the chance of winning £250,000 and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance?
