So, is Michael getting married or isn’t he? Debbie still thinks he isn’t and can’t understand why he has disappeared. Then he reappears, battered and bruised, and Debbie feels terrible because she thinks his fiancée’s family has taken revenge for the cancelled wedding. Michael finally decides honesty is the best policy, though, and explains that Cain beat him half to death because he hasn’t called off the wedding. He even says Cain was doing the right thing by trying to protect her! It turns out that just as he was about to dump his bride she told him she’s pregnant and he can’t turn his back on his child. A devastated Debbie tells him to leave. But will she really let him go? It’s starting to look like pesky Sally doesn’t want to let Ashley go. As he and Laurel are enjoying lunch together, she turns up again. Laurel reluctantly leaves them to return to work and Ashley tries to get Sally to leave. Instead, she breaks down and Ashley wonders if she wants to go back to Vincent at all. Also feeling uncomfortable is Leyla… Nathan is now saying that he wants her to pay him back the money directly. An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
