Holby staff are shocked when Michael rushes into theatre with his daughter Milly, who has a serious injury, and says he's going to operate on her. This is against the rules, but Michael is determined. Annalese watches nervously from the wings. The operation is a success, but later Michael flips when he sees Annalese with Ric together – apparently forgetting that it was his philandering that ended their marriage in the first place! Milly is rushed back into theatre, and when Michael's emotions get the better of him, Ric offers to step in... Connie is in shock over John's affair. She ended their relationship to save his marriage and now he's seeing someone else. She walks away, but later when he turns up at the hospital to talk to Jayne, she confronts him. Jayne witnesses their argument and realises they had an affair. Connie rushes to Jayne and explains everything, but Jayne silences her. This is a domestic matter, and it won't become an issue at work. Elliot meets with Tara, who tries to convince him to help her with a case. She refers to a controversial procedure they carried out years ago, and Elliot says no immediately. But when he saves Jac's patient during a risky operation, he begins to reconsider Tara's offer...

An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
