Carl asks Mercedes whether she has taken him up on his offer and dumped Riley. She gives him a shock when she reveals that rather then be offended Riley has asked her to marry him. Later, Mercedes corners Carl in the storeroom and works her magic on him. He ends up relenting and kisses her passionately. But when Mercedes pulls away, Carl sees that she has recorded the whole thing. She threatens to tell Heidi and Riley unless Carl leaves her alone. Guy Candy reveal their new look, designed by Darren, much to Lee's annoyance. But later, things turn sour when they realise how ridiculous they look and ask Lee to consider being their manager again. Theresa takes Ethan's advice and goes back to school to see if she can re-do her exams. While in the headmaster's office she makes a new friend Liberty. But then she discovers that Ethan is Liberty's fiance. Also; Theresa tells Kathleen that Carmel, Mercy, Jacqui and Myra all know that she killed Calvin. Kathleen promises to support her, but when Carmel returns home alone later, Kathleen says she wants two thousand pound to keep her mouth shut. An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
