Nurse David Hide’s world comes crashing down when boss and friend Charlie Fairhead reports him for assault!

Fletch (Holby City’s Alex Walkinshaw) immediately launches an investigation and suspends devastated David from nursing duties. Has Charlie ruthlessly set David up to protect wife Duffy’s dementia secret?

Away from the ED clinical lead Connie Beauchamp is crippled with anxiety at home, unable to sleep and jumping at every night noise. Back at work, however, it’s business as usual when Maureen McLeod (guest star Melanie Kilburn) is admitted to the ED following an altercation with boyfriend Bill Danes (Detectorists star David Sterne) about his deceased wife.

During treatment Maureen behaves strangely around Connie while Bill’s openly aggressive towards the clinical lead. Disturbed, Connie digs around with receptionist Noel’s help and discovers Bill was married to former patient, Naomi Danes – played by EastEnders Anita Dobson in 2017 - who sadly died in the ED.

Alarm bells start to ring for Ruby when Dani begins turning up at the scenes of accidents and repeatedly tries to spend time with her. Disturbed by Dani’s obsessive behaviour, will baffled Ruby put two and two together?
