Coronation Street's Daniel and Sinead meet with the oncologist who says her cancer isn’t responding to treatment and she only has a few weeks to live in Wednesdays first episode (7.30pm, see our TV Guide for full listings).

In a state of shock, Sinead’s insistent they must attend Ken’s 80th birthday party. When Daniel reveals that he and Beth have arranged a surprise 1st birthday party for Bertie too, Sinead’s touched. At the party, Ken’s thrilled to see Norris there and touched when Emily Bishop video messages him from Edinburgh. At Bertie’s party in The Rovers’ back yard, Sinead fights back tears as she breaks the news to family and friends that she only has weeks to live.

Sarah visits David in prison and discovers she’s missed Shona’s birthday. As a fellow inmate slips a mobile phone inside his sock, he’s furious to clock David watching him. He is almost caught with the mobile phone, however he’s impressed when David causes a distraction so he can get rid of it.

Abi finds out about Kevin’s £50k windfall and plans to meet him for lunch. As Kevin waits in the bistro for her, a sassy woman in her forties approaches and reveals that she’s Martine and apologises for standing him up and that Abi tracked her down.

But is Kevin interested in Martine? Sophie’s taken aback when Paula suggests she should jack in her college course and the should go travelling in Cambodia instead.

Maria, Gary, Faye and Jake set about some digging in Victoria Garden. Ali watches jealously as Gary flirts with Maria.
