When Pc Emma Hinckley tells Pc Will Fletcher that she's planning on leaving Sun Hill to start a family with husband Matt, Will tries to prevent her from making a mistake by telling her that Matt has been lying to her: Matt's seemingly dead ex-girlfriend Nina Lloyd is alive and Will takes Emma to see her. Later at home, Emma confronts Matt and tells him she's fed up with his lies. As an intense struggle ensues, Emma hits out in self-defence. At that moment, Will and Sergeant Smithy burst into the flat and discover Matt lying lifeless on the floor... With girlfriend Mia's shock revelation playing on his mind, DC Mickey Webb throws himself into investigating the death of a young woman who was found in a swimming pool after a party. Back at Sun Hill, Mickey realises that Supt. John Heaton is 'the other man’ and punches him, then storms out of his office and starts packing his things before he's thrown out of the station.
