Faye Byrne's spent the last few weeks languishing in the local psychiatric hospital, following her recent nervous breakdown. But when her waters break, the nurse refuses to leave the unit in order to deliver her unborn son safely. Even estranged husband and father-to-be Joseph Byrne can't persuade Faye to do what's right for their baby, whose health is put dangerously at risk. His last resort is to call her long-time nemesis Jac Naylor for help. To everybody's surprise, Jac manages to bond with Faye and convinces her to head for Holby for an emergency caesarean. But as Faye goes under the knife, Jac and Joseph share an intimate moment. Meanwhile, Chrissie is nervous about her impending date with hunky date Greg and in the end cancels the arrangement and spends the evening with far more suitable Sacha. Elswhere, Donna realises she may have misjudged relief nurse Kieran.
