Writer-director Luc Besson has his tongue firmly in his cheek and packs in all manner of silly lines, outrageous fashions (designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier) and over-the-top performances, resulting in a consistently entertaining sci-fi send-up that looks amazing.
Gary Oldman is the main villain, Ian Holm is the obligatory wise old man and Chris Tucker has a whale of a time in drag.
