Determined to expose the failings of the NHS, respected surgeon Ric thinks he's found the perfect patient to spearhead his campaign...

Having become the poster boy for Holby, following his public rant about the ‘NHS in crisis’, esteemed surgeon Ric Griffin continues on his one-man crusade.

Ric is determined to make the hospital Trust accountable for failings at Holby and calls on influential acquaintance Francois Durand (Felicite Du Jeu), who he's sure can help ruffle a few feathers.

Unfortunately for Ric, on the day Francois visits, Holby is running like a well-oiled machine – hardly a hospital at breaking point!

Determined to prove his point, Ric introduces Francois to Lee, a patient with stomach pains, who spent the night sleeping on a trolley in a corridor. But laid-back Lee only has nice things to say about the wonderful treatment he's received from Ric since!

However, when Ric discovers that Lee has a tumour, which could have been treated much sooner, he’s confident Lee might be just the person to help him blow the whistle on the 'failing' Trust. Can Ric put his personal feelings aside and put the patient first?

Meanwhile, Ange has a problem on her hands when young patient Holly continues to delay having vital surgery until her dad arrives from Oz. Ange calls on daughter Chloe again to help convince the teen to give consent, however, Ange then stumbles on a family secret that threatens to throw a spanner in the works. Can Ange and Chloe persuade Holly to change her mind?

Also, Cameron and Nicky find themselves going head-to-head once again for a work trip to Naples. Who will win the coveted prize?

And Zav remains determined to win the affections of Donna’s hard-to-please daughter Mia.

Holby City continues Tuesdays at 8pm on BBC1.
