Alfie Nightingale (Richard Linnell) is delighted that he’s been offered an internship in Washington DC but is worried about leaving his family and best friend Yazz Maalik (Haeisha Mistry) behind.

Yazz is riled when she believes Alfie thinks his internship abroad is so much better than hers in Chester, but Alfie has a plan and manages to land Yazz an internship with him in the US capital too.

An excited Yazz thinks it’s a great idea and agrees to go with him but what will her mum Misbah make of the plan and will she let her daughter go?

Elsewhere Sinead  O'Connor (Stephanie Davies) is concerned to find Lily McQueen (Lauren McQueen) in a vulnerable state and cancels the plans she made with her husband Laurie (Kyle Pryor) to spend time with Lily and cheer her up.

Meanwhile, Sinead’s husband Laurie continues to give his new colleague Sienna a lot of attention. When he sees her wobbling on a ladder, he puts his hands on her to steady her. Later on he asks her out for a drink. Sienna initially knocks him back and says it would be wrong for the two of them to go on a date but when Laurie reassures her it’s a work do with other colleagues, will she change her mind?
