He's a hit man and she's the damsel in distress he bumps into at an airport. Then, faster than lightning, they're off on a busy, globe-trotting adventure dodging endless bad guys, including the FBI and foreign arms dealers.
Cruise repeatedly drugging Diaz is the running joke and a reminder that nothing is to be taken seriously.
It's pure escapism, with lots of CGI effects, an enthusiastic turn from Cruise and a charmingly ditzy one from Diaz.
