Ever since junior doctor Alicia Munroe joined the ED, her mentor Lily has had it in for her. So far, Alicia has bravely taken Lily’s barbed comments on the chin. But this week, Lily’s bullying goes one step too far, pushing Alicia to breaking point…

Things start to unravel for Alicia when Leo, a young cancer patient, is admitted after a fall and she fails to diagnose a life-threatening internal bleed. Meanwhile, she gets caught up in a vicious fight outside the hospital and is forced to perform emergency surgery to save a man’s life using a just paper clip and a pen!

When Alicia returns to the ED covered in blood, she’s clearly shell-shocked. But instead of mentoring her properly, Lily gives Alicia short shrift over Leo’s misdiagnosis, calling her stupid and incompetent!

When Lily puts Alicia in the firing line by blabbing to Connie about her misdiagnosis, a furious Connie launches a formal investigation. Forced into a corner, Alicia feels she has no option but to quit!

Also this week… Charlie takes Lily to task over her treatment of Alicia.

Dylan tries to get Zoe to face up to the fact her marriage to Max is dead in the water.

Rita and Iain bond over a terrifyingly violent incident in the ambulance bay.

And Jacob receives the name of the police officer who shot him. Connie's impassioned attempts to talk him out of seeking revenge finally pay off.
