Suburban mother Geena Davis suddenly starts having flashbacks that suggest a violent past.
With the help of private detective Samuel L Jackson, she discovers that she was once a highly trained professional assassin working for US intelligence. Unfortunately for her, her ex-colleagues have decided to terminate her and what was a quiet life rapidly becomes anything but.
The last straw for Davis is when the bad guys kidnap her eight-year-old daughter, so she cuts her long dark hair and goes for a severe blonde bob, arms herself with a whole arsenal of weapons and goes on the warpath.
Davis has a great time acting tough and Jackson is wonderful as her reluctant sidekick. The plot is implausible, but doesn't take itself too seriously, in this entertainingly daft thriller.
