As six more chefs put themselves through the MasterChef heats stage, nearly all of them seem to be nervous wrecks in the skills test.

Monica Galetti has asked three of them to prepare sea bass ceviche, while Marcus Wareing wants a pork chop with a grain mustard sauce, both dishes to be executed in 15 minutes and in full view of a frowning two-Michelin-starred chef.

The signature-dish round should separate the competitors, but Marcus, Monica and Gregg Wallace disagree on who should progress.

Meanwhile, has anyone else noticed that an appreciative smile from Marcus is becoming a bit like the MasterChef equivalent of a Hollywood handshake?
