Besides the mounting, nail-biting suspense, this incredibly tense Alfred Hitchcock thriller boasts prime performances from Stewart, Grace Kelly as his girlfriend and Thelma Ritter as his nurse.

For one of his best movies, Hitchcock was nominated for a Best Director Oscar, one of four nominations.

His meticulously designed, humour-soaked thriller cleverly stays inside Stewart’s apartment and shares his point of view for almost all its length, in effect turning the audience into a set of Peeping Toms as well.
