Following hot on the heels of a welcome reshowing of Lucy Worsley’s Tales of the Royal Wardrobe (7.30pm) is this new series on a similar theme.

Amber Butchart is our guide, a fashion historian who sets out, with a team of experts, to reconstruct historical garments stitch by stitch.

Over the coming six weeks she’ll be tackling clothes from the various centuries, starting this week with King Charles II, a fashion-obsessed monarch who would have between 30 and 40 suits of clothes made each year and a man who was acutely aware of the need to dress regally.
