Hotel Inspector Alex Polizzi gets heavy this week when it seems that one member of the family running a failing pub is not pulling their weight

The New Lowndes Arms, near Milton Keynes, is a family-run pub and restaurant with 10 rooms.

The Goyen family, mum Sue, dad Mark and two of their oldest children, all work in the business and are all very stressed about how little money it’s making.

When Hotel Inspector Alex Polizzi arrives, she’s impressed with the pub and food, but the rooms are a disaster – dated, bland, boring and overpriced.

Alex also spots that mum Sue would rather be anywhere else than at work, while dad Mark puts in all the hours under the sun and has a great way with the customers.

As usual, Alex doesn’t pull any punches as she instructs Mark to revamp the tired exterior, has her team make over two of the rooms and tells Sue to buck up or sling her hook!
