The Good Wife’s Matt Czuchry takes the title the title role of third-year hospital resident Dr Conrad Hawkins in this US medical drama, The Resident.

Conrad is brilliant but also cocky and rude. His brash ways don’t endear him to idealistic intern Devon Pravesh (Manish Dayal), but Conrad has bigger concerns.

He wants arrogant chief of surgery Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood) to admit he’s lost his touch and is killing patients.

The Resident is not as hard-hitting as the 2004 British medical series Bodies, but it has a dark edge and a very watchable cast, which includes Revenge’s Emily Van Camp as head nurse Nic Nevin.
