*First episode* Carla is delighted when Vicki and Kasia complete her order after working through the night, but her triumph turns to horror when Kasia tumbles down some steps and lies motionless. While Vicki tries to revive her, a panicky Carla calls Paul, who hurries over to the factory. It’s clear that Kasia is already dead and a callous Paul advises Carla to wait until 8am to call an ambulance to avoid getting done for having the girls working illegally out of hours. Sally and Liam turn up for work and are shocked to discover that Kasia is dead. Vernon has some explaining to do after standing up Liz at the restaurant and a guilty Liz accepts his apology. But Liz isn’t feeling guilty for long when Derek calls and asks to see her again and she is seriously tempted. Eileen tells Violet that she’s determined to continue to care for Holly as she thinks that Emma is an unfit mother. Violet realises that Eileen’s real reason for keeping Holly is that she can’t bear to give her up, but Eileen won’t listen to sense. Also, a nervous Sophie prepares for her school play audition. *Second episode, 8.30pm* Paul realises he needs to do some damage control and quickly ushers Sally away from Kasia’s body before phoning for an ambulance. Paul reassures Carla and Liam that they’ll be fine as long as they stick to their story. Carla realises that she needs to make sure that Vicki won’t spill the beans and she tells Vicki that if she reveals that Kasia died while working nights, Kasia’s family won’t receive the insurance money. Sally is horrified after discovering Kasia’s death and tells the factory workers the news. The girls gossip about the shocking turn of events, but they’re suspicious that the Connors aren’t being completely truthful. Jerry is confronted in the takeaway by an irate Teresa as she's finally got back from her holiday to discover her kids and her electrical goods have all gone missing. Jerry gives Teresa a few home truths about leaving the children home alone and he insists that she can have her electrical stuff back – but she’s not taking the children. Also, Audrey lets slip to Bill that Gail will soon be 50 and Bill suggests that they organise a surprise celebration.
