Whoever had the bright idea of sticking whole episodes of Top of the Pops on BBC4 came up with a winner, as they've become really popular with a generation who grew up with the show in the 1970s.

Tonight the channel devotes the best part of an evening to it, starting with Top of the Pops: 1983 at 7.30pm.

At 9.00pm, you can see TOTP 1964 to 1975, with performances from Tom Jones, Queen and Status Quo, then at 10.30pm Top of the Pops 1977 includes music from Rod Stewart and David Bowie.
